Unlike standard Balinese waterfalls that plummet straight down into a deep pool, Kanto Lampo flows gently down a terraced, rocky cliff face, creating a mesmerizing curtain of water.
Compared to other waterfalls that require arduous treks, accessing Kanto Lampo is relatively easy. From the parking area, it only takes a 5 to 10-minute walk down a series of stone steps. However, once you reach the bottom, you will need to wade into the rocky river—which can be calf to thigh-deep—to get the best view and photographs.
Because it is an incredibly popular photo spot, local guides are often stationed in the water to help visitors take pictures. They know exactly which rocks are safe to step on and which camera angles look best. While there is no official tariff for their help, tipping them (usually IDR 20,000 - 50,000) is customary and highly appreciated.
